Our point of difference is that this venue is designed for people to stop, sit, meet others
and have a chat in a relaxed atmosphere. The ambience created by the space, the friendly staff and furnishings go hand in hand with the great coffee and food.
The White Owl is a local Café for our community. We took over a run down existing Café and turned it into something special. We are one of 8 shops which face onto the Courtyard that I have recently given a facelift to, with the Warrandyte Business Association assisting, we are the only Cafe in close proximity.
My personal philosophy is that to be a local Cafe it is really important to greet people by name and make them feel welcome – if we were chopping and changing staff constantly there would not
be that continuity of great service. People matter and if I can make a difference to somebody’s day when they come into the Cafe that that is a win
for everyone. I actually try and remember regular customers orders as that helps build relationships which are paramount.
The Café is a training ground for young staff, sometimes this is the first job they have ever had. So its important to teach them how to behave, how to communicate and how to respect others and enjoy their work and importantly how to work as part of a team.
