A0049Manningham Business Excellence Awards has been established to support and develop business in Manningham.

Manningham Business Excellence Awards Committee Chair, Mr Geoff Roberts said Bendigo Bank – Community Bank® are proud partners in the Manningham Business Excellence Awards.

“The awards are an integral part of celebrating the good things business does in the community and how important local businesses are to Manningham.”

Mr Roberts appreciates the support of awards partners which includes Bendigo Bank – Community Bank®(Doncaster East, Templestowe Village and Warrandyte), The Rotary Clubs of the City of Manningham, Manningham Business Network and Manningham Business.

“We are also pleased to have support from leading Manningham businesses,” Mr Roberts explained.

“Hudson Bond Real Estate is supporting the award category Contribution to Community, this is the second year they have supported the awards and the Committee is very grateful for their continued support.”

Stefan Kazakis, local business mentor and coach, is supporting the Innovation category in this year’s awards.

“It’s so pleasing to see a business like this giving back to the community. Stefan is a true believer in local business growth” Mr Roberts said.

Col Haigh, Manningham Rotary, said the awards were created to strengthen ties between business and the community, and remembers first discussing the possibility of creating the awards how keen The Rotary Clubs of the City of Manningham were to support the program.

“Rotary does a lot to help the community, and so do local business. We wanted to recognize that contribution and to encourage local businesses that strive for excellence.  A driving focus for Rotary is what’s good for business in good for the community” said Mr Haigh.

President of the Manningham Business Network (MBN) Mr David Donahoo said the MBN is a proactive business network and supporting the awards helps meet our goals of Share, Learn and Grow.

“The prize pool for the Manningham Business Excellence awards is valued at $15,000; I would encourage all businesses in Manningham to enter the awards. The prizes are designed to recognise the work local business owners put into their business, and go a long way to helping them develop further.”

Manningham Council CEO, Mr Joe Carbone said Council, is pleased to be able to support the awards through Manningham Business.

“The awards encourage business to excel. This is just one initiative that Council undertakes to support business in Manningham, and we are pleased to partner with other leaders in our community.”

The 2014 awards are launched at a special breakfast event on Tuesday 27 May. Renowned sports and businessman Steve Moneghetti will present on “It’s About the Journey not the Destination – Understanding how to focus and evolve to be successful in business”.
